Keel

Keel

On the original Vee, I used three wide battens to frame up the bottom. A simpler method is to make a "keel" from two layers of plywood. (See picture below from the Dillon Pro Vee.) The first layer (the wider one) is made from 1/4" plywood; the second layer from 3/8". The drawings below illustrate the method.
